Peer Support Dog Joins Las Vegas Police

Meet Jimmy – 70 pounds of love and silliness and the newest recruit to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Jimmy is a Peer Support Dog, working alongside employees assigned to LVMPD’s Peer Support division, which is part of the Employee Health and Wellness Bureau. The Valley Health System is proud to partner with Behind the Blue to provide financial support for various items this very good boy needs!

Responsibilities: Jimmy will make appearances in crisis situations to ensure LVMPD employees have a warm, welcomed distraction to help them get the care they need. He will also visit employees and their family members in healthcare facilities and make his rounds visiting area commands and department bureaus.
Favorite activities: Belly rubs and ear scratches from humans
