Opportunity Village and The Valley Health System Partner on Donation Sites
Opportunity Village and The Valley Health System have partnered to make giving back and donating to the Opportunity Village Thrift Store more convenient than ever with two new attended donation sites. Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center and Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center are now accepting new and gently used items. Opportunity Village has placed 26-foot trucks on each campus for donations. Suggested items include clothing, shoes, electronics, housewares and furniture.
“We’re thrilled to partner with one of the leading health networks in Nevada,” said Steve Chartrand, Chief Operating Officer at Opportunity Village. “Centennial Hills Hospital and Spring Valley Hospital have graciously donated their space to help Opportunity Village continue its tradition of receiving quality items for its Thrift Store. We can’t thank them enough.”
Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, located at 6900 N. Durango Drive, and Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, located at 5400 S. Rainbow Blvd., join Opportunity Village’s third attended donation site, The Crossing Church at 7950 W. Windmill Lane.
All donation sites are open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
“We’re very pleased to partner with Opportunity Village on donation centers at Centennial Hills Hospital in the northwest and Spring Valley Hospital in the southwest,” said Scott Romney, Senior System Director of Business Development and Marketing for The Valley Health System. “It provides convenient locations and an environmentally friendly alternative for employees, visitors and community members to donate gently used items.”
Donations made to the Opportunity Village Thrift Store are tax deductible and benefit individuals with disabilities right here in the Las Vegas community and put many of them to work in jobs they love. The Thrift Store, which opened in 1962, is Opportunity Village’s oldest business. It is currently located at 390 S. Decatur Blvd.
For those interested in shopping, store hours are Monday–Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. There is no sales tax on donated goods at the Opportunity Village Thrift Store.
