What to Expect When Arriving for Care
Sudden illness or injury can occur without warning, and while no one typically plans a trip to the ER, everyone should know what to expect after they arrive.
When you come to our emergency rooms, our emergency management will likely go through five urgent care steps which are:
Step 1 – Triage
Triage is the process of determining the severity of a patient’s condition. Patients with the most severe emergencies receive immediate treatment. Wait time for emergency medical services varies, but those with the most severe and pressing medical emergencies will receive care first.
Step 2 – Registration
Registration might not seem like an important task when rushing to an emergency room, but this is how we get consent to treat whatever ailment you may have.
Step 3 – Treatment
Treating your medical condition is key, and time matters. We take a look at what is wrong with you and provide the best treatment we can in those crucial moments.
Step 4 – Reevaluation
After the initial treatment, it is important to reevaluate your specific situation and medical conditions so that we take care of you during your visit but with an eye on long-term diagnosis and treatment.
Step 5 – Discharge
Being discharged means you get to go home, and we make sure to take a look at all your options before sending you on your way.
Heart Attack Care
Emergency care for a suspected heart attack is key. Your emergency response time to suspected symptoms can save your life. If you are experiencing any signs of a heart attack, please seek out ER services or call 911 as soon as possible. Emergency medicine from an emergency department can make a difference.
Stroke Care
When suspecting a potential stroke, always remember to BE FAST and Save a Life.
- Balance is affected. A person may fall or feel unsteady.
